Under the Amber Lights Featuring Michael Averill

Wednesday, November 25 at 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm

A Cross-Canada Troubadour, Live at Vice

On Wednesday, November 25th Under The Amber Lights returns to Vice & Virtue Brewing from 7 to 9 pm, with Canadian troubadour Michael Averill taking the stage.

Midweek is the perfect time to slow down, settle in, and let a great storyteller set the mood. Whether you’re a longtime fan of Okanagan concerts and local music or you’re simply craving something different from the usual Wednesday routine, this is a night made for an elevated bite, a pint, and a few good laughs..

Michael Averill is an adventurous Canadian troubadour who literally strolled 4,000 miles across Canada over eight years on a tour called “I’d Rather Walk.” The journey was inspired by his late singer/songwriter father, Garry Averill, and became a way to understand what Canada is all about as a country and a community. That spirit of connection runs through everything he does.

Michael has played house concerts, theatres, festivals, trains, boats, backyards, walking paths, schools, yoga classes, and conferences. In every setting, he finds unique and warm ways to help audiences connect with one another through riveting storytelling and quirky songwriting.

His versatility is a big part of the magic. Expect everything from southern lap steel slide blues to intricate finger-style folk to driving shanties about mismatched socks. With a smile and a curious heart, Michael blends buttery guitar licks and philosophical wordplay into an effervescent mix that walks listeners through the ups and downs of life with care. He is also working on a book of short stories about his walking tour, which will weave in music written along the way, so you may just catch a preview of what’s to come.

Pair the music with one of our craft beers, each with its own story, and explore our menu of elevated, quality food. Arrive early to grab a good seat, bring a friend (or make a new one), and enjoy an evening of live music in Kelowna that’s as approachable as it is memorable.

If you like what you hear, consider tipping the artist.
