Under the Amber Lights Featuring Chris Baxter

Wednesday, September 2 at 7:00 pm 9:00 pm

Bluegrass, banjo, and brews collide.

Kelowna’s live music scene is heating up this September, and there’s no better way to spend a Wednesday evening than with a pint in hand and bluegrass in the air.

Join us at Vice & Virtue Brewing on September 2nd from 7-9pm for Under the Amber Lights, a free live music event featuring acclaimed British Columbia musician Chris Baxter. Whether you’re a longtime bluegrass fan or simply looking for free things to do in Kelowna, this laid-back evening promises great tunes, great beer, and the kind of genuine community connection that makes Okanagan nights special.

Chris Baxter is a bluegrass musician, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist whose energetic stage presence and rhythm-driven playing style have made him a standout performer across Western Canada. Drawing on his roots as a drummer, Chris brings a distinctive percussive drive to everything he plays, whether he’s picking banjo, strumming mandolin, or fingerpicking guitar. As a solo artist, he weaves together original songwriting, traditional bluegrass, folk, and gospel influences into performances that feel both deeply rooted in tradition and refreshingly alive. His songs lean into storytelling, history, and the everyday human experience, giving audiences something to connect with beyond the music itself.

Beyond his solo work, Chris is a founding member of the touring bluegrass band Under the Rocks, with whom he’s shared stages across North America and released multiple albums. From festival mainstages to intimate taproom settings like ours, Chris has built a reputation for bringing warmth, authenticity, and serious musicianship to every performance.

This free live music event is the perfect excuse to gather your friends, grab a seat and settle in for an evening of exceptional acoustic music.
