A Lively, Foot-Tapping Wednesday Evening
Midweek just got a lot more interesting. On Wednesday, October 21st from 7 to 9 pm, Vice & Virtue Brewing welcomes BC guitarist Aaron Loewen for the next edition of Under The Amber Lights, our free live music series in Kelowna. Settle in with a pint of something well crafted, order a bite from our kitchen, and let the sound of old-timey guitar jazz fill the room.
Aaron Loewen is a regular fixture in the BC music scene, known for an exciting style of old-timey guitar jazz inspired by Django Reinhardt’s “gypsy jazz” and the early American jazz that came before the big-band era. His playing is lively, nimble, and full of the swing that makes you tap your foot before you realize you’re doing it. It’s the kind of music that suits a brewery taproom beautifully, equally fitting for a quiet conversation or a full evening of listening.
Aaron’s recent original project, “a-ron songs,” blends jazz-inspired harmony with a modern indie aesthetic. The result is a sound that honours the roots of jazz while feeling fresh and current. If you love discovering local and regional talent, this is a chance to hear a musician who moves between classic and contemporary with ease.
Whether you’re a longtime jazz fan, a curious first-timer, or simply looking for a relaxed Okanagan night out, there’s a seat for you. Want to secure your spot? Make a reservation.
The music is free, but if you like what you hear, consider tipping the artist.
